Spring Date Ideas
The outdoors are filled with beautiful shades of different colors as flowers start to bloom. Days are starting to get warmer and longer with a light breeze in the air. Spring is here and love is in the air. After a long winter of “Netflix and Chill,” all I want to do is spend the day outside and enjoy the weather with my dog and boyfriend. So here is a list of spring date ideas I think you might enjoy!
Spring Date Ideas:
- Go to a winery
The weather is finally perfect and there is no better place to enjoy a glass of wine than the outdoors. I absolutely love wineries as a date spot because it’s so scenic and peaceful.
- Have a picnic
Nothing says a romantic spring date like a picnic in the park. Pack a nice lunch, a blanket and set up a picnic on a lush grass area near a creek or under blossoming flowers.
- Sporting Event
I don’t care much for sports, but games are so much fun for everyone. Even if you’re like me and don’t really follow sports, the atmosphere is upbeat, lively and fun. Eat some snacks, grab a drink and just take in the fun atmosphere. It’s like walking into a concert- everyone has good vibes and it instantly puts you in the best mood. Plus you’ll get bonus points for thinking of something your significant other will love. Maybe next date night he’ll agree to going to a wine and paint night!
Skip the typical restaurant dinner for a date idea and make dinner outside on the grill! Set up some tiki torches, light some candles and enjoy your home cooked dinner while watching the sunset.
- Bike Ride
For the more adventurous couples, pack some water bottles and hit the trail! The spring weather is perfect for bike rides because it’s not too hot yet.
Other than fall, I think spring is the best time to visit the zoo. All the animals enjoy the weather also so they’re more likely to be out and about.
- Plant a Garden
As the saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers.” This is the perfect time to plant a garden. I love the idea of doing different little things for dates because sometimes the dinner and movie routine gets a little old. Spend the afternoon planting a garden together. It doesn’t even have to be a garden. If you live in an apartment, even planting some flowers to accent your balcony is a great way to spend the afternoon.
If there’s an aquarium in your area, you’re in for a real treat. With spring weather being a little fickle, I would save the aquarium for a rainy day. From little colorful fish to big sharks, going to an aquarium is like being in an underwater world. There’s always so much to see, and there’s sure to be something that both you and your significant other will enjoy.
- Mini Golf/ Top Golf
Golfing is always a great date idea, especially when the weather is great. It’s laid back, and fun to just goof around even if you’re not that great at golfing.
If there’s a theme park within an hour or two from where you are, it’s the perfect day-cation! Get up early and grab some coffee and breakfast before hitting the road. Get to the park early when it opens to get as much out of the day (and before lines get long). From roller coasters to carnival games, it’s like being a kid again. It’s a fun filled day for everyone.
Pick Your Own Farm/Orchard
From picking your own flowers to seasonal fruits and veggies, PYO (pick your own) farms are a date favorite every season! Check your local PYO farm to see what crop is in season. In Virginia, for example, it’s about time for strawberries, cherries and black raspberries!
- Go for a joy ride
Sometimes the best outings are the ones that aren’t planned at all. Roll down the windows, turn up the radio and just go wherever the road takes you. Maybe you’ll wind up at a coffee shop you’ve never been to or a park that you’ve forgotten all about. Enjoy an afternoon without any agendas or plans in mind.
- Go fishing or kayaking
I love to go on these adventure-type dates in the summer as well, but sometimes it’s just too hot that late in the year. Take advantage of the weather now before it gets too hot, sticky and uncomfortable.
As always, if you’ve liked this post please feel free to share!
